Manuscripts

Dating back to the early 19th century, the autographs of Stanislaw Trembecki's works are some of the oldest manuscripts in the Library's collection.

Most of the documents of the manuscript collection were created in the 20th century. These are primarily the legacies of employees of the University of Gdansk, as well as collections and individual literary documents.

Extremely interesting are autographs of correspondence and works of Jaroslaw Iwaszkiewicz, Maria Dabrowska, Zofia Nalkowska and Agnieszka Osiecka from the literary collection of the editor of the monthly magazine "Twórczość" Jan Wolosiuk.

A special place among the manuscripts is occupied by cassubiana and pomeranica collected by Andrzej Bukowski (1911-1997), a researcher of the history of Pomerania. Among them are valuable materials on Pomeranian-Kashubian organizations and institutions, as well as personal collections on prominent figures: writers, cultural people and socio-political activists.
