Early printed books

Old prints

The book collection of old prints mostly consists of gedaniana and pomeranika from the area of former Royal Prussia and Ducal Prussia, Inflants, Courland
and Scandinavian countries.

Particularly valuable are rare works published in small centers: Chelmno, Braniewo, Oliva or Elblag.

The library has an interesting collection of works by professors, students, alumni and others associated with the Gdansk Academic Gymnasium.

The regional book collection is supplemented by products of publishing centers of the whole of the then Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, as well as the area
of almost all Europe. We have works published in leading European publishing centers such as Nuremberg (Antonius Koberger, Antwerp (Oporin printing house), Basel (Officina Plantiniana), Leiden (Elsewier printing house), Paris, London, Venice and others.
