"By the way… The World Through Ania Wojciechowska’s Lens" is the title of an exhibition whose opening will take place on 28 September at 7.00 pm at the Gallery of the Main Library of the University of Gdańsk.

Anna Wojciechowska takes viewers on a journey through the cities, streets and places we pass by every day or discover whilst travelling.

The artist combines street and travel photography to create a personal record of moments, encounters and observations. The works on display include both black-and-white and colour photographs. Light and shadow, reflections and people play a particular role in these images – it is precisely this that lends ordinary scenes their unique character.

These captured fleeting moments set the mood and allow us to view the familiar world from a slightly different perspective.

‘By the way...’ is an exhibition about the art of noticing. It shows that beauty can be found in a passer-by, a reflection in a window, the play of light on a city street or a gesture captured by chance. It is a story about a world observed with mindfulness – about everyday life that can delight us when we pause for a moment. A real, ever-changing world, full of little stories unfolding right beside us – sometimes, as it were… in passing.
