Changed on Sunday, February 1, 2026 - 21:41

“Ephemera, in Print. Polish School of Poster Art in the Special Collections of the University of Gdańsk Library” is an attempt to present a fragment of the sizable collection of posters that have been acquired by the library since the mid-1980s. Because the subject matter of the posters is remarkably diverse, we decided to single out one aspect of the collection. We focused on presenting works by renowned representatives of the “Polish school of poster art” – a movement that originated in Poland in the 1950s and lasted until the mid-1960s.

At the exhibition ‘Echo of the Absolute’, Denis Chyżawski presents a series of paintings entitled ‘Penetration’ – works born out of the deepest emotions, painted improvisationally, without a sketch. These are artistic records of inner journeys, where instinctive feelings spill onto the canvas, creating precisely intertwining shapes and harmonious compositions. Each painting is an invitation to personal interpretation – you can discover something of your own in them, something that resonates with your soul.

Changed on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 - 10:17

The “Following the Sun” exhibition is much more than an exhibition of beautiful paintings. It is a tribute to the strength, perseverance and indomitability of the human spirit.

Mila Chyżawska invites viewers on a journey through a painterly tale at the heart of which are sunflowers - symbols of beauty, but also of extraordinary strength. The exhibition will include both monumental, large-format canvases depicting panoramic fields of sunflowers and smaller paintings allowing for a more intimate contact with the work.
