  1. Is it possible to pick up the book in the Main Library (BUG Oliwa) if it is located in the Economic Library (Bekon)?

    No, books must be picked up at the same place where they were booked.

  2. What is Patron ID number and what is the password?

    The Patron ID for international students consists of the prefix 510000 and a four-digit student identification number, e.g. 510000 1234 . The password is the eleven-digit number received in the dean's office - the same as the password to the Student Portal.  

  3. I forgot my password to Patron Account. What can I do to retrieve it?

    In order to retrieve  your password, you should go to any circulation desk or generate it on your own. Click the link ”I forgot my password: placed in the tab ”log in” directly under the reader’s number and password.

  4. Is it possible to renew the book if the item is overdue?

    Yes, but only if the book hasn't been renewed yet. You are supposed to do it at the Circulation Desk (by e-mail or phone)

  5. For how long do I have to wait for requested book?

    Within 30 minutes your request should be available for Pickup.

  6. Is it possible for someone else to borrow a book on behalf of me?

    Yes, it is possible only for person who has been personally authorized by you at the Circulation Desk. The authorized User must present ID document to borrow a book for you.

  7. I have renewed the book twice but I still need it for my study. What can I do ?

    You must return the book to the Library. You can borrow it again on condition that no one else is waiting for this book.

  8. I am beyond Tri -City and the due time expires. What can I do?

    If the book hasn't been renewed yet you can renew it online, by phone or via e-mail. The book can be also returned by someone else on behalf of you.

  9. What does status: pending mean?

    It means that a book has been requested on-line and it is waiting for User. The request has been executed within 3 days  since ordering.

  10. If I return an overdue book and don't pay the fine will I have a right to borrow?

    No, unless you pay you can't borrow and request books online.

  11. Since when the fine has been charged?

    The fine has been charged after three days since the due date expired. During the bank holidays and weekend days the fine isn't charged.

  12. May I return the book which I borrow in any specialised libraries of the University of Gdańsk?

    No, the book must be returned at the same place where was borrowed.

    BUG means the Main Library of the University of Gdańsk, BEkon means the Economic Library.

    Yes, You can renew your loans two times for another 30 days in person or by telephone or e-mail.

  15. How much is the fine for overdue books?

    0,50 PLN per one overdue book per day- the fine is charged automatically by the lending system.

  16. Is it possible to reserve a book checked- out by other User?

    Yes, it is possible to do it online.

  17. I am not both student of the University of Gdańsk and an academic employee. Can I use the Library holding and services?

    The Library collections and services are available to all the Users in the Library area only. The Library holdings can be viewed at place only.

  18. I am a first year student. How many books the library lends to me?

    Students of the University of Gdańsk can borrow max.15 items for 30 days.

  19. Why I can't request a book on-line which is located in the Main Library in Oliwa?

    Circulating collection in the Main Library is arranged in open stock and therefore books can not be requested online. Users have to check the classification (second call number) of the searching book and find it on a shelf.
